Zaandam has characteristic wooden Zaan houses alongside 1930s homes, apartments and new builds. Every building needs its own solution. Think of a steel screen between kitchen and living room, a spiral staircase to the attic, a balustrade along a void or a steel beam for a wall opening or extension, made on the basis of a structural engineer's calculation. For commercial buildings we make stairs, railings and steel structures, among other things.
