Why Kaaijk

Why choose Kaaijk Metaalbewerking?

Kaaijk started in 1676 as the forge De Drie Gekroonde Hamers. We still practise that craft today, with the same care. That allows us to make unique shapes you will not find ready-made anywhere.

  • A forge since 1676
  • Coal fire, hammer and anvil
  • Any shape possible
  • Finished in detail
  • Direct and pleasant contact
  • We keep our promises
What is it?

Forging by Kaaijk

Forging is one of the oldest ways of working metal. The metal is heated until it can be shaped and then hammered into form by hand. The result is a product with its own character, with scrolls, points and details exactly the way you want them.

In our workshop we have forged a wide range of pieces: ornamental railings, handrails and balustrades, handles, strap hinges and pintles, hinges, straps and bolts, and hanging signs. Do you have something else in mind? Just ask us.

  • Strap hinges, pintles and hinges
  • Handles, straps and bolts
  • Hand-forged gates and handrails
  • Hanging signs and more

How we work

Still forged by hand

In our workshop we still forge the traditional way: with a coal fire, a hammer and an anvil. This lets us shape the metal in fine detail, ideal for a product with a unique shape.

We first discuss what you are looking for and what shape it should take. Then we get to work at the fire and finish every piece carefully, so it lasts for years.
