Forged work from our own forge
Our workshop in Zaandam has a real forge. Here we still forge the traditional way, with coal fire, hammer and anvil, as this business has done since 1676.
The steel goes into the fire until it glows and is then shaped on the anvil. That is how a scroll for a gate or handrail is made, for example. Every piece is therefore slightly different and truly made by hand.
This is how we make strap hinges, pintles, hinges, handles, straps and bolts, as well as forged gates, handrails and hanging signs. We can also repair or reproduce existing forged work.
The gallery shows a set of forged strap hinges, two forged keys, a hanging sign with scrolls and a box of hand-forged nails.
